Typhoon Causes Delays in Ningbo and Shanghai

August 21st, 2018: Within the last 2 weeks, Ningbo and Shanghai ports have been hit with 4 typhoons including Typhoon Rumbia, and is expecting another typhoon today. Due to the extreme rainfall and flooding, this has caused port congestion and vessels to delay approximately 5 days. CSL will continue to monitor, however please expect delays from these 2 ports. List 2: 25% Tariff Increase - Effective August 23rd, 2018

The Trump Administration 279 items from list 2 will be subject to 25% tariff increase effective August 23rd. The U.S Trade Representative will issue a Federal Register Notice confirming all items on List 2. UPDATE: Trump's Original 10% Additional Tariff Could Increase to 25% on Chinese Goods.

August 2nd, 2018: Last night, The Trump Administration proposed the original 10% additional tariff could be increased to 25% on Chinese goods that are worth up to $200 billion dollars. This possible tariff increase would affect 6,031 tariff lines. The purpose is to encourage China to change its harmful policies, acts, and practices related to intellectual property, innovation, and technology transfer.
