Fallen Containers at Long Beach Port

On Tuesday morning, September 9th, around 9am containers fell off the incoming Mississippi vessel from China. Approximately 67 containers fell into the ocean, some even landing on a nearby small vessel. The U.S. Coast Guard has responded to the incident at Pier G and is leading the recovery efforts. There have been no injuries reported and this incident is still under investigation. The Port of Long Beach has advised to expect vessel processing delays specifically in Pier G and other terminals may experience congestion while this investigation is on going.
